Camping

We love camping and love it even more when we can go with friends! I have always had an appreciation for the outdoors thanks to my dad and family. I love the smells, the sights, the sounds, everything!
                      

We were able to go up the canyon with the Osguthorpes and go camping for a night. It was so much fun. We were able to use our new tent for the first time and loved having more space. Gemma loved getting dirty... almost as much as the kids. We had fun eating my caramel popcorn, talking, having a marshmallow war, playing in the nearby stream, taking nature hikes and just loving the outdoors. Can't wait to go again!

Brian Head

Brent took me to Brian Head for the night. It was so beautiful there and so much SNOW! We stayed in a condo that Brent's boss let us borrow. It was so much fun to snuggle up and watch the snow fall in such a beautiful place. We ate yummy pizza, watched movies and talked all night. It was such a wonderful night! Thanks Brent! I always love our little adventures together and creating new memories.

Tuachan Trip #2

The radio was advertising discount tickets to go and see Grease at the Tuachan. Of course we couldn't pass it up, so on Tuesday we packed up to go to Tuachan again in a weeks time. We were both so excited. I have always loved the movie and seeing it in life was so much fun! We even had 2nd row seats (amazing for only $10 each)! It was all I could do not to sing along to all the songs. They had a few malfunctions with the old cars that they drove on the stage, but over all it was great! My favorite scene was "Beauty School Dropout" - they did such a great job with costumes, dancing, singing, and acting. It was perfect! Every actor fit his/her role perfectly and it was fun pointing out those who were also in the Little Mermaid. After the play I was able to have all the cast -minus one- sign my program! Definitely another wonderful night at Tuachan!

 

The Little Mermaid

For my birthday Brent bought me tickets to see Disney's The Little Mermaid at the Tuachan. Ever since I was a little girl I have LOVED the Little Mermaid so this was such a fun thing to do. I definitely felt like a kid again waiting anxiously for the day to come. When the day finally came I was so excited I could hardly wait to go. Brent took me out to eat at Iggy's Grill. Their bread is to die for but I hate their service. We got to the play and I was shocked to see we had amazing seats (considering the show has been sold out almost every night) and that we were on the 8th row and dead center. Brent even bought me a great collectors program with lots of pictures from the play.

The play started by actually flooding the stage with water. It was so neat to see all of the special effects they did. They had a wall of water come down that they did light effects on it to make it seem like you were actually under the water. They also did a lot with black lights, wires & pulleys, and with costumes. Ursula's costume was the best. Her tentacles looked like the rolled across the stage with her! And her eels Flotsam and Jetsam had light on their costumes to make them electric eels. Every "fish" had on skates to seem more like they were swimming. My favorite scenes were the music number of "Under the sea", the fight between Sebastian and Chef Louis, and the dance numbers with the eels and Ursula.

I loved every minute of the play and spending the evening with Brent! I loved it so much I seriously was ready to watch it again! I bet Brent loved seeing me so giddy just as much if not more than the play itself. Thank you so much Brent for the wonderful evening and a great birthday! I love you!

Labor Day Weekend

Brent's brother Mark & his family came down for the weekend. It was such fun having them all here. On Saturday, Em and I took off for a girls day. We went to alot of fun little stores here in town. It was really fun getting out of the house and getting creative. Sunday we went to Bryce Canyon (pictures below). It was so amazing! We went on one hike that went though some of the pillars. It was truly beautiful and fun to go with family. Scott was so cute. He kept saying "WOW" at everything and loved hearing his echo. He had an especially fun time seeing a chipmunk. He got quite close to it too! Monday Em & I again left for girl time. We went down to St. George to see one of her friends and to go shopping. I really loved spending so much time with Emily and gaining a stronger friendship with her. It was so great to spend time with them and Scott. He is such a cute little kid.

Thanks so much for coming down! We loved every minute of the time we were able to spend with you! We definitely need to make a trip up there soon.

Camping with friends & Cedar Breaks

This past weekend to celebrate the 24th, we went camping with our friends up Parowan Canyon. We went to a place called Yankee Meadow. It was so gorgeous and so fun. I have missed camping so much! I love the smell of fire and sleeping in a tent. We were also able to watch a new movie that I just bought for Brent - "Bounty Hunter". Such a funny movie! It was fun to see Gemma with her first camping trip. She did so well! Our friends had a lot of crappy adventures while up there....crap being the key word. Lets just say they are so grateful for bringing not only one extra pair of underwear for each kid but two. On our way home we stopped by the side of the road to take pictures. It was so fun! We were able to get our first complete family pic.

On Sunday we all (+1) went up to Cedar Breaks. Shanae's mom came along. It was so amazing! It was cold but so worth going. Brent says it was the perfect temperature. The pictures do not do it justice! We then stopped off at a picnic site to eat lunch and to let the kids run loose. It was a wonderful day!

Kolob

Brent and I decided to take a little trip to Kolob Canyon today. It was so beautiful! I am so glad we have all this beautiful scenery close by that we can go to any day. We took a short hike up to a lookout, Brent had a lizard jump on him while trying to take a picture of it (so funny!!!), took a million pictures, and just enjoyed being outside! Tooth Issues

My baby tooth finally came out. Yes everyone I still had a baby tooth. It never had a tooth behind it so it just stayed in as long as it could. I chipped it a few years ago when eating a swedish fish and it went down hill fast after that. During our anniversary trip to Salt Lake it got really bad and I couldn't handle it anymore and just pulled it out (so if any of you are paying close enough attention to our anniversary pictures and notice that I'm wearing a retainer... that is why). After going to the zoo Brent dropped me off at my parents house so that I could go up to see my uncle who is a dentist. I was glad to learn that I do not have to do anything right away. I am just going to wear my retainer for about a year so that I can save up to do an implant. So even though I hate having a hillbilly smile now and wearing my retainer 24/7... I can live with it until I can do something permanent. Thanks so much Uncle Cliff for looking at my teeth and helping me decide what to do, and thank you Mom for driving me up there and for all your help.

French Night

Today we decided to do Family Home Evening a night early. We decided we wanted a french night. We made french fries .... (which Brent cooked and started our stove on fire twice - luckily no damage done! I will always give him a hard time for that one!), drank out of champagne glasses, watched french kiss, and just had a nice romantic evening home. It was so much fun... not really including the fires though.

Father's Day and a trip to Zion's

We just celebrated Father's Day and we are grateful for our fathers and all that they have done for us in our lives. Happy Father's Day to our dads! :)

We were able to have Mark, Emily and Scott at our place for Father's Day. We shared an amazing experience at Zion. We were very fortunate to go on a free entrance weekend. Megan and I had never been to Zion, so it was awesome to see some of the amazing scenery the park has to offer. We took the short little hike to Weeping Rock. It was amazing to see water coming out that took about 1,000 years to reach the surface through an underground water source. We made barbecue hamburgers for dinner when we got home. They were so big that it was hard to take bites! Megan and I both played hooky from work on Monday. We went to a japanese place called Ninja for lunch. It was really good. We spent a few hours of the afternoon at Park Discovery. Scott was really funny as he tried to eat a ladybug that kept crawling up his arm. He also didn't like his legs touching the grass, so he kept crawling bear-style. We were grateful to be able to spend quality time with Mark, Emily and Scott. Thanks for coming down to visit!

Memorial Weekend & the Parowan Gap

For Memorial weekend we were able to visit lots of family! After Cam's graduation, Brent & I went up Fairview Canyon to his families cabin. It was so nice to see everyone and just relax. We also got to see our new niece for the first time. She is such a cutie!! We played games and visited with each other to catch up on current events.

When the weekend was over, we took Cameron back to Cedar City with us to spend the week. We didn't do much but it was so nice to see him and spend more time with him. For our family home evening we took a trip to Parowan to see some petroglyphs. It was really cool and we enjoyed learning about ancestors and family. Below are a bunch of pictures we took.

My family came down on Saturday to pick Cam up. It was so nice to have my whole family down. Here are some pictures of everyone in 3-D glasses as they watched Journey to the Center of the Earth.

3 Peaks

Today Brent and I decided to go up to 3 peaks to get a break from life and to just be outside. It was a little chilly but it so beautiful. They have a swing set that overlooks the entire city. Brent and I love to go out there and just swing and to talk - especially while watching the sun set. It is a nice break from the humdrum of every day life. The view is amazing! Here are just a few pictures that we took.

Smash Mouth Concert

This past weekend my family and I went to the Smash Mouth concert at SUU. Brent was unable to go with us because he had a class in St. George. We really missed him! Cam brought his best friend Rachel to take Brent's ticket. It was the first concert Rachel, Cameron and Paige had been to and they were very excited. When we got to the college we were excited to find to find that our tickets were not only for front row seats but also dead center. We were sitting right in front of the mic! The concert was a blast! We eventually moved up to the stage (so that stupid kids couldn't get in front of us). Dad was able to shake hands with Steve (the singer) and I touched his shoe! lol. This year we were glad to see that the security was successful in stopping stupid people from getting on stage. One tried and was escorted out very quickly.We danced and sang along the whole night. It was so much fun! It was a great concert and I was glad to have my family there to share it with me. I just wish Brent was able to come with us.
